Kyungsung Creature Season 2
If the ending of Gyeongseong Creature 1 was disappointing because it didn't meet expectations, the beginning of Gyeongseong Creature 2 is as frustrating as eating 10 sweet potatoes. Thanks to Ho-jae losing his memory when he jumped from the Japanese era to the modern day, Ho-jae and Chae-ok's love story can't progress, and the rice cake for Na-jin doesn't really unravel until episode 5. However, the second half is worth watching as director Jung Dong-yoon and writer Kang Eun-kyung are veterans.
It's a matter of personal preference, but it's much more entertaining than Gyeongseong Creature 1. However, until the 4th episode, it's a bit rushed without any real Han So-hee action. In the second half of episode 4, when Jeon Seung Pharmaceutical and Najin's rice cakes start to be recovered, that's when the story really starts. It takes a while to unravel the story because of the time jumping.
Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 budget
When season 1 aired, it was talked about that the total production cost was 700 billion won. However, the ending of the first episode did not meet expectations and caused some disappointment. Whether or not Gyeongseong Creature season 3 will be produced will depend on the viewing response, as production cost is the biggest issue.

'Missing person's name Oh Ki-hoon, 29 years old'
Seoul, 2024, 79 years later. Chae-Ok, who inherited her mother's najin, lives under the name Eun-Jebi and searches for missing people. Meanwhile, Tae-sang has lost his memory after undergoing surgery to remove his najin a year ago and lives under the name Ho-jae.
Ho-jae visits a motel to take photos of their affair and ends up in the wrong room, where he meets Chae-ok again. However, Ho-jae doesn't recognize Chae-ok and gets into a fight with her. After losing sight of Chae-ok, Ho-jae is mistaken for the killer of Oh Ki-hoon.
Captain Yeo Myung-Jun orders Ho-Jae and Yong-Gil to find the culprit behind the serial killings, showing them CCTV footage of the suspect in the case. Meanwhile, Oh Ki-Hoon's father asks Chae-Ok to find the killer again. Chae Ok accepts the request as she sees Ho Jae in the CCTV footage and remembers her memories with Jang Tae Sang.
Meanwhile, Ho-jae and Yong-gil plant images of Chae-ok in various places, and when they realize that she watches the sunset from the roof of the Sinsa-dong building every day, they set out to find her. When Chae-Ok realizes that Ho-Jae is after her, a duel ensues and Ho-Jae is beaten.
“Jang Dae-Joo...
Chae-Ok meets Jang Tae-Sang again and embraces him after an emotional reunion after 79 years. However, Ho-jae doesn't recognize Chae-ok, who has lost her memory due to the surgery to remove her najin. He suggests that they work together to solve the Oh Ki-hoon murder case. Chae-Ok refuses but for some reason, memories of her lost past haunt her.
Meanwhile, Jeon Seung Pharmaceutical has taken over Ongseong Hospital and is continuing to research Najin on Koreans. Seung-jo visits Chae-ok's hideout and murders Nasa-jang (Chae-ok's assistant) under the pretext of asking her to report Jang Ho-jae missing. Another serial killing sends the police into a panic.
After taking Nasa-jang's cell phone, Seung-jo calls Chae-ok and reveals his identity. Ho-jae, tipped off by the police, rushes to the scene. He sees Chae-ok chasing Seung-jo and gives chase. A fight breaks out between Seung-Jo and Chae-Ok, who has Najin's powers, and they realize each other's abilities.
Unaware of Seung-Jo's tentacle abilities, Chae-Ok is severely injured but is saved by Ho-Jae, who intervenes just in time. Rushed to the hospital, Chae-Ok sees Ho-Jae's face and has memories of Jang Tae-Sang.
Meanwhile, at Jeon Seung Pharmaceutical, Kuroko 1 learns that Seung-Jo has committed murder and calls him back. Kuroko 1 scolds him with a hawk, but Seung-Jo starts to doubt whether Ho-Jae is alive or dead. When Chae-Ok wakes up, she comes to Ho-Jae's office and asks to work on the same side.
Ho-Jae calls Seung-Jo, who has taken her cell phone, but he can't understand what she's saying because he's lost his memory. However, when Chae-Ok tells him that she's going to meet the killer, he instinctively follows her. Together, Chae-Ok and Ho-Jae investigate but are chased by a group of Kuroko.
Chae-Ok rescues Ho-Jae first but is captured after inhaling nitrogen gas during a fight with the Kuroko. Seung-jo tests Ho-jae's memory of being robbed of Najin, but he doesn't remember anything. Chae-Ok's life is in danger, but she manages to escape when Yong-Gil drives away.
Chae-Ok, who has been seriously injured twice, tries to escape Ho-Jae in order to eat his brain.
'I just remembered Yoon Chae Ok's name' Ho-jae is still worried about Chae-ok, though...
Detective Noh arrives late and finds Yong-gil and Ho-jae collapsed at the murder scene and takes them to the hospital. The next day, Ho-Jae wakes up in the hospital and is visited by Seung-Jo, and decides to escape from the hospital to save Chae-Ok.
Meanwhile, a nitrogen grenade belonging to Jinseung Pharmaceutical is found at the murder scene.
Kuroko 1 checks the CT scan of Chae-Ok's brain and realizes that she is a Najin holder. Meanwhile, Chae-Ok witnesses the test subjects dying in prison. Ho-Jae searches for Chae-Ok and starts having flashbacks of the past...
Seung-Jo finds Ho-Jae and beats him to death. Seung-Jo drags Ho-Jae away and forces him to return to his time as Jang Tae-Sang. Maeda arrives and realizes that the owner of the leaked najin is Chae-Ok and that this is all Maeda's doing.
(As it turns out, it was Maeda who fed Jang Ho-jae the najin).
In front of Chae-Ok, Ho-Jae decides to become Najin's master once again. As he becomes the owner of Najin again, Ho-Jae begins to reminisce about his memories with Chae-Ok. After accepting the second Najin, Ho-jae regains his superhuman abilities and begins to search for Chae-ok.
'I just wanted to hold her, I just wanted to hold her'
After a bloody battle with the Kurokos, they are reunited, but Ho-jae accidentally stabs Chae-ok in his excitement. Seung-jo tricks the Kuroko captain, who arrives late, and helps Chae-ok and Ho-jae escape. Chae-ok and Jang Tae-sang are separated again as soon as they meet, but they manage to escape.
After escaping from hell, the two share an emotional kiss...

Kyungsung Creature Season 2 ending |
Chae-Ok and Ho-Jae are finally reunited after 79 years of waiting.
Meanwhile, Jong-hyuk, who was a test subject for Jeon Seung Pharmaceutical, escapes but is caught by the police after committing a murder. In response, Jeon Seung Pharmaceutical dispatches an arrest team to extract Jong-hyeok from the police. With their strength restored, Chae-Ok and Ho-Jae head back to fight against Jeon Seung Pharmaceutical once more, with Seung-Jo joining them.
Only, it turns out it's all a ruse...
Seung-jo succeeds in kidnapping Chae-ok again using the Najin injection, but loses an eye to Detective Noh's gun. Ho-Jae then realizes that Chae-Ok and Yong-Gil have been kidnapped and goes to Maeda at Jeon Seung Pharmaceutical to rescue them. Maeda forces Ho-jae to choose between saving his friends Yong-gil and Yeo-banjang or saving Chae-ok.
After much deliberation, Ho-jae chooses Yong-gil, who is in danger of being eaten by a monster. A bloodbath ensues between the monster and Ho-jae until Yong-gil and Jong-hyeok escape in an elevator. But in the meantime, Chae-Ok's experiment to harvest najin begins...
Ho-jae fights the monster and manages to escape with his life. Enraged, Ho-jae injects Maeda with the najin and succeeds in saving Chae-ok. While Najin is asleep, Maeda is eventually killed by Seungjo. Jong-Hyeok escapes but hides behind a story about being a murderer.
The story ends as Chae-Ok returns to her normal college life and meets Ho-Jae again on the street.
Kyungsung Creature Season 2 ending explained
The main villain in Season 3 of Kyungsung Creature is Seungjo, who, along with Kuroko1, prepares a terrifying plan to flood the world with water mixed with Najin. The reason for the watering is to collect adult najin, which unwittingly turns anyone who drinks it into a host and transforms into a full-blown monster.
Gyeongseong Creature Oh Hyo-jung Kim Hyun-jung dies
Hyo-jung Oh and Hyun-jung Kim, who are seen in the end credits of Gyeongseong Creature, were part of the prop team and have sadly passed away. In the end credits of season 1 of Gyeongseong Creature, they were listed as Seo Ji-hoon and Kim Hyun-jung. May they rest in peace.
Interpretation of Gyeongseong Creature Season 2
The episode ends with another cliffhanger as Jinseung Pharmaceutical's plan to use Najin to take over the world is revealed to be a Japanese plan. Feeding Jang Ho-Jae najin again is seen as a sign of affection for Maeda's experiment. Originally, Jang Ho-Jae and Maeda were lovers, but Chae-Ok stole her away from him.
In season 2, Jang Tae-sang and Yoon Chae-ok's love story is the center of the story. Season 3 seems to have wrapped up their love story with an open ending. Director Jung Dong Yoon reportedly heard criticism after the first episode aired and re-edited the drama to focus on the creatures and the love story.
Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 story summary
1. Why did Captain Croco give Ho-Jae a narzine injection? Croco1 was helping the Jeonseung group to cure his sister's disability, but he may have betrayed Maeda when he saw that Ho-jae, the group's only danger, had been injected with narzine again.
2. Why did Seungjo betray Ho-jae?
Ho-jae is the only person with najin who understands Seung-jo, who grew up to be a monster. He wanted Ho-jae to live as a human after he lost his memory after surgery to remove the najin, but seeing him gradually regain his memory, he chose the path of a monster.
3. Why did Maeda feed Jang Tae-sang the najin?
When he was abandoned by Tae-sang and turned into a monster, she fed him najin for his loneliness, so we can only see it as a love-hate relationship. However, seeing that she brought him back to life after the najin extraction surgery, it seems that she couldn't kill him because she still had affection for him. She couldn't kill him in the final test either, so she made him suffer the same pain she did.
Gyeongseong Creature season 3 release date
Unlike the second episode, which was produced before the first episode aired, the third episode of Gyeongseong Creature has not yet been produced. Since creatures are expensive to produce, it is likely that the third episode of Gyeongseong Creature will be produced depending on the reaction to the second episode. According to the director and writer, the story of the third installment is already somewhat outlined. I'm looking forward to seeing how Ho-jae and Chae-ok will fight the monsters after Najin's ouster.
Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 Review
After the ending of Gyeongseong Creature Season 1 was criticized, it was said that it was re-edited. Personally, I think it was better to have an open ending, but many people will be disappointed that we don't find out what happens to Ho-jae and Chae-ok, and that Jinseung Pharmaceutical's crimes are not wrapped up.
Just as they left Maeda behind in episode 1, they seem to have made the choice to leave Seung Jo, Kuroko1, and Ahn Jong Hyuk behind for season 3. Director Jang Dong-yoon is also new to directing a water series, so it seems that he chose to leave it open rather than wrap up each season.
